steve who? If it was 3 years ago, then an inability to install Sap was seen as a liablility... but starting in 1996, once some of the major implementations started to go live, it was clear that Sap was too inflexible for the really dynamic companies. Sun and Cisco for example have no plans to go to Sap, and Amat actually backed away from a very expensive Sap implementation (huge $$ - maybe, 100M) and decided to go Oracle ERP + I2.
