Are you predicting a near term sharp selloff? In any case, I checked with Schwab earlier today and they had shares available as well- I said I'd like 5k and they checked with the margin department and said "No problem."

I didn't place the order though, I'm up to my eyeballs in Nov and (mainly) Dec puts right now.

Excuse my logic, but if shares are suddenly available everywhere it makes me think that the "hidden" 4-5 mil shares that are short (Jan posted several interesting tidbits on those) are quickly being covered and since the assumption that vinik and company were using those for hedging purposes, they must either expect a huge blowout to the upside, or they're getting ready to sell their long positions.

I remember on the Yahoo thread in summer, 1997, bears pointing out that Yang, Filo, Koogle, Mallett, and Valenzuela were "dumping" their shares around 16. The game was supposedly over and the insiders knew it.

Glenn, you are so brave. The inet stocks are on fire, granted amzn much less than most.

Sincerely wishing you the best. I am in it for the long term, so a dip to 95-105 won't hurt me. Good luck. Rob
