Jan,

If memory serves, you use MSWIN. I use WOW. That's the problem. There is something glitchy in the way WOW reads these QP files and doesn't know they are updated. The QP files get updated alright, but WOW doesn't know it.

How do you go about setting up a new list in an existing virtual directory?

I use Notepad. Just type 'em in using the format that you can see by opening any list you now have. Save it in the directory where your other QP lists are. Now start your Virtual module and open the profile you want to add the new list to. Once open, you click on lists, find the list you just created and drag it from the right side of the box to the left, dropping it onto the open profile. All symbols from the list are now added to that profile, and are current through your last download. Save and exit Virtual.

You can also create a new list and add it to an existing Virtual profile by having a scan do the work, no extra typing required.

The new charts will be viewable by your MSWIN (or WOW for me).

Ken

Jan & Ken,

I would add one more idea to Ken's instructions. After opening the profile and the lists, double click on the desired list to expand it to the individual stocks. Highlight the desired stock(s), or use Ctrl/A to include all, then drag them to the profile directory. Be sure the drag highlights the profile directory and not an individual stock in the profile. This will add the stocks without duplicates and does not create an additional sub-directory. You will be warned of each stock already there and must click to clear window. Save the profile and exit.

I do this daily to add stocks to an existing profile to keep the number of profiles down when merging into WOW format.

Hope this helps,

Bob
