Nothing very much has to happen for counsel for either party to "file a motion" which is what is most likely going on here. Next the motion has to be heard by the judge. Then he can choose to grant or deny the motion. I was glad to see that you managed to click on my profile and have mastered the art of copying and pasting a link from a previous reply.
