Frank, you are right...but BR is such an ASND bull that he will never admit to it... Furthermore AT&T loses a customer and there's one aritcle...BR feels the need to post it then calls ASND the industry standard. What a bunch of malarky. BR, you're making me sick. ASND will have a failure too someday. Someday soon. I will not rub it in, but mark my words, it'll happen. OG

Ascend's core switch systems business, particularly its ATM and frame relay product portfolios, are best in class in the industry. (Gary, reality, this is from First Boston, not my report). Moreover, the company is experiencing very strong order trends in both the U.S. and overseas and for both ATM and frame relay switch ports. In fact, the majority of ATM and frame relay contracts announced this year will not be completed until late 1999. (Gary, you have not seen the real ASND yet,in 1999 ASND will hit the TAR off the CSCO baseball). At this time, we expect service providers to begin migrating circuit-switched voice and data minutes to ATM backbones, providing another wave of growth. We project that core switch system sales will rebound sequentially, rising nearly 24% in Q4:98.
