New novice: Saying a stock will "Gap" means that it opens up at a different price then when it closed. It can gap up or down. For instance NAVR closed at 3 15/16 but it may gap open to 4 1/2 or 5. That's just an example. That's why you shouldn't place market orders prior to the open. You might buy it at much different price than you want to.
