I share your feelings about working when and where you want. After working for the same medical electronics company for 20 years, I was "displaced" from my management position a month ago. Although still on the payroll till years end, I am developing my own plans.
No e-mail, no cell phones, no laptop, no Lotus Notes. At 41, Ive essentially "retired". Now Im far from wealthy, but I know enough about trading to make a sizeable yearly income. Made more in market last year than I did in salary.
So go for it. Plan it all out, learn market strategies if needed and "retire". As the Isley Brothers sang in 1970, "Its yo thing, do what ya wanna do!"
