Well, if I can't defeat this diversion from our great stock investments, I may as well joint (pun intended) it.

I am a "Republican" but only to the extent I believe in very little federal government, more state control, and maximum individual freedom. More of a civil libertarian philosophy.

As long as our freedoms don't cause more harm than good (a pretty subjective standard), I am all for it. Have to decide on a case by case basis, I guess.

Since more than 50% of all property crimes are caused by drug addicts (I have heard somewhere), I say legalize and regulate, much like Great Britain.

I was never a flower child, but was envious of the apparent liberation (whether short-lived or not) from social constraints, mores, expectations, etc.

Actually, i DID envision that. Besides, there is nothing wrong with a little grass, as long as it's GOOD S#&?.

In the late sixties and early seventies I was still under the watchful eye of Freud and Brothers (mom and dad) but was exposed to some of the "Flower" movement.

West Virginia became a haven for the "screw the establishment and get back to nature movement". Man did they ever get back to nature.

No one ever had a problem with them. They loved the lifestyle until they found out that you DO have to have money to get through this world.

They then took their doctorates and moved back to the big cities and became the famous people that help lead our economy and country today.

You just can't outrun the government.
