IVI Checkmate lost a potential sale of 50,000 POS terminals to Verifone a subsidiary of Hewlett Packard.

Nov. 9, 1998-- In one of the largest rollouts of point of sale
(POS) equipment accepting electronic benefits transfer (EBT) payment, VeriFone, Inc. and Lockheed Martin IMS have announced the signing of a seven year service contract whereby VeriFone will install and maintain up to 50,000 of their POS systems in 15 states.
