How can you blame NSCP's stock price drop on Microsoft?

Easy. It is because of the fact that our revenue was cut in half and the perception that we won't be able to compete with MSFT that caused the stock drop.

As an investor , you should blame NSCP for not spending too much time on
new product development.

Believe me, NSCP is spending plenty on new product development. The problem is that NSCP cannot possibly compete with MSFT in this area. When MSFT decided to enter the browser market, they put 800 people to work on it. At that time, NSCP was about 1/10th that size as a whole, and there was no way could possibly match MSFT's resources. Couple this with the fact that MSFT has been illegally cutting NSCP's air supply off from the most effective modes of product distribution, and you've got a losing proposition. That is why NSCP is moving into areas in which there is no competition from MSFT.
