The camera's a Kodak DC260. One feature I really don't like is it takes about 2 seconds after you hit the button before it takes the picture. This is a step backward from conventional film -- my cats don't stand still for 2 seconds. ;-)

But it has a lot of cool features. The worst resolution is very good (768 x 512), so I set it on that and have 91 pictures left, with the 8 MB card it came with. I saw a 32 MB card for $170, which would hold 364 pictures -- enough for a picture a day for a year! It has a 3x zoom, a USB connector and a serial connector, as well as an infrared hookup but that's something you buy separately.

I got it at techstore.com. This is the coolest web site I've found for buying stuff at. I usually look at pricewatch.com for good deals, and that's how I found TechStore. It's got a really well designed interface -- it has a drop-down box for shipping, which lists the days it'll take and the exact cost so you can compare. It reduces the number of clicks you need, making it that much easier to buy on impulse. ;-) The one thing I found odd was looking at their hard drives I couldn't find the IBM 16.8 GB drive, but typing "16.8" in the search box found it. Less than $400! The P2-450 will soon have 30 GB in it.

Cheers,
KenB
