Richard,

Good stuff! I occasionally pick up recommendations that don't come as a result of my scans. TV, magazines, IBD, etc. I want to look at them (usually before discarding) in WOW. I've mentioned a profile that I use called E:\handy. It's a virtual profile and I've learned to move stuff in and out of it in a blink.

It's usually quite small, so it's fast. I agree with you, though. For the most part it isn't necessary to run the Virtual module daily, although I'm a creature of habit and I seem to do it anyway.

Ken

QP always complains to me, Richard, at
-----
output= "watchlist.lst";
input= "watchlist.lst";
-----
Need to use a different name for output -- any will do.

Richard,

I use WOW for all charting and save individual charts for later review. For this reason I prefer that the data be in WOW format. I merge QP virtual data into WOW format each night and prefer to keep the number of virtual directories merged to a minimum, two if possible, so it doesn't take too long. I have one virtual directory with indexes, mutual funds some longer term stocks and those selected from scans for active trading. I look at all of these each night and add or delete entries as needed. This is where I like the profile setup method. It actually is no different than having a real MS directory but I do not need to update the MS files.

I agree with your method of using QP vituals when looking at the data by selecting the virtual directory rather than WOW format. Great way for running through several scan results but then I can not mark up a chart and save it. The next time I try to retrieve it, it will not be in the same location.

I hope this explains why I use profile setup.

Bob
