Yes, the market is showing irrational speculation and fear - schizophrenia The TA on the sector and the leaders has entered the realm where they have always pulled back in the past. When things get this irrational, many scared short-sellers panic, sending the stocks up faster and higher. I look for a blow-off by this afternoon. But it's hard to tell if the momentum will continue for a few days or quickly reverse as momentum shifts. The lackluster performance in the rest of the market adds to the rise in the Internet stocks, IMO. This happened before when the stock market started to correct this summer - the Internet bucked the trend until the major indexes had pulled back considerably but then quickly played catch-up.
