The news that on-line sales are expected to be brisk this Christmas is the talk of CNBC and other investment channels. Reports that up to 60% of internet users will shop for something on-line this year compared to a relatively small % last year has sent the e-tailers soaring. any analysis that these sales will result in losses rather than profits is meaningless in this charged environment.

What to do? The TA says that these stocks have risen too rapidly. But the Wall Street hype machine is pumping up the stocks, perhaps even more so because other sectors have turned cold. The targets on eBay and others have been raised by analysts as the stocks move past the old targets. And the media is quick to grab the 30 second byte that e-sales will be up and is not focused on the astronmical rise in these stocks.

Is it time to switch horses and climb on for the ride uphill? The momentum could continue to carry these stocks higher - there is just no other place to put money that looks nearly as exciting. But the TA and "finger to the wind" reasoning says that investors euphoria can't continue forever. But we are just at the start of the Fall/Christmas season and more news of a "wonderful Christmas season" and record breaking sales can be expectd. The fact that the stocks are rising higher than the stratosphere just helps to give investors more reason to think that this is the "future". When will "enough be enough" - maybe not until things are realy crazy.
