Iomega's Clik! Mobile Drive Wins Popular Science Magazine's Prestigious ''Best of What's New'' Award

Leading Science and Technology Magazine Features Clik!(TM)
Mobile Drive In its Annual Awards Program

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 10, 1998-- Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM- news) today announced its Clik!(TM) Mobile Drive was selected for the highly coveted ''Best of What's New'' Award from Popular Science, the world's largest science and technology magazine.

Clik! Mobile Drive joins other renowned technologies such as the Mars Rover Sojourner, the world's first cloned mammals and the super-efficient 70 miles-per-gallon automobile on the prestigious winner's list.

''The size, performance and versatility of the Clik! Mobile Drive makes it an ideal selection for our Award,'' said John B. Crawley, vice president and publisher of Popular Science. ''The spirit of the annual awards program is to acknowledge innovative thinking made into tangible results. The mobility, capacity and affordability of the Clik! Mobile Drive meets this criteria and is deserving of our Best of What's New Award, which was begun to give credit where credit is due.''

Each year, Popular Science editors see thousands of new products stemming from scientific and technological achievements. Out of those, only 100 are selected to be honored with the distinguished ''Best of What's New'' awards. Since the award's inception in 1988, the special 26-page section has been featured as the COVER STORY of Popular Science's December issue and is traditionally the hottest selling issue of the year.

''We're very pleased with the tremendous exposure Clik! Mobile Drives are already receiving,'' said James C. Kelly, president of Iomega's Mobile Storage Division. ''It's exciting that Popular Science, a magazine respected by millions of people in many walks of life, has recognized the potential of Clik! Mobile Drives and disks.

''With Clik! drives, Iomega is seeking to enhance the way technology users exchange information, and it's a great accomplishment to have Popular Science recognize our vision.''
