Nice post on odometer (msg #) 1400. PERI is doing some backing and filling, strengthening its foundation for another climb. Todays' genre may be rock climbing a popular sport around here.

Company Press Release

Periphonics Receives $1 Million
Order For Its Calling Card Platform

Systems To Be Deployed In Middle East Country

BOHEMIA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 11, 1999--Periphonics
Corporation (NASDAQ: PERI - news), a leading worldwide
provider of products and services for call processing solutions
used in Computer Telephony Integration and Telecom Enhanced Network Services, today announced that it has received an order valued at approximately $1.0 million for its Periphonics
Calling Card Platform (PCCP). The order comes from an independent operator licensed to provide prepaid calling card service
in a Middle East country where telephone service is provided exclusively by the government. The independent operator
will deploy the PCCPs in several cities in the Middle
East country. Based on the terms of the order, Periphonics
expects to ship the systems and
recognize the majority of the revenue during its current
fiscal third quarter.

The Periphonics Calling Card Platform (PCCP) provides a complete, turnkey calling card solution.
Both prepaid and postpaid cards are supported and
cardholders can call from any touch-tone
telephone. With the PCCP, landline and wireless
telecommunications service providers can launch
and manage multiple calling card offerings;
each customized for a particular market segment with
unique card features. A range of enhanced services
such as speech recognition; conferencing, paging
and voice messaging are available.

George Cole, Periphonics Vice President Telecom
Business Development Group, said, ''We're very
pleased that the Periphonics Calling Card Platform
has been chosen for use in this middle east
country. The deregulation of the telephone
industry - which began some time ago in the US - is
spreading rapidly throughout the world. This is
creating opportunities for service providers and
independent operators to provide new, enhanced services
that can increase revenues for telecom
service providers and add convenience for
telephone customers. Periphonics products and
professional services are targeted at helping
us continue to grow our market share in the enhanced
telecom network service sector.''

Periphonics Corporation develops, markets and
supports products and professional services for
Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) and for
Telecom Enhanced Network Services using
technologies such as interactive voice response
(IVR), speech input, messaging, fax, and web
browsers. The Company's products and services automate
call transaction processing, increase call-
center agent productivity, and often create new
revenue streams for its customers.

Headquartered in Bohemia, New York (Long Island),
Periphonics has systems installed in more than 50 countries.
