Compaq Computer Corp. Gets Intl Securities Exchange

HOUSTON -- Compaq Computer Corp. (CPQ) received a contract to provide its OpenVMS
AlphaServers and other products to the International Securities Exchange, a new electronics
options exchange.

In a press release Tuesday, Compaq said the exchange will initially purchase $3 million worth of
64-bit AlphaServer systems, Reliable Transaction Router software, personal computers and
professional services.

Compaq develops and markets hardware, software and services. It had revenues of $24.58 billion
for the year ended Dec. 31.
