AG has already stated in public testimony that cheap gold loans by the CBs will be the weapon of choice against a strong gold bull. The problem though is that the CBs have already leased much of their reserves. I suspect that if gold takes off we may also see all kinds of rumors that the IMF and maybe the US itself will start to sell. AG could also tighten monetary policy but that is extremely improbable given the current state of the global financial system.

But let me emphasize that I do not think a move to $325 or even $350 would worry AG too much. After all supply siders want gold at these levels. But any move much beyond $350 and especially above $400 would bring out the heavy artillery.
