Another news release that slipped past me: Eaton buys Brazilian company

United Press International - December 11, 1998 16:11

Jump to first matched term

CLEVELAND, Dec. 12 (UPI) - The Eaton Corp. has acquired TGM
Automotiva Ltda., a privately-held Sao Paulo, Brazil, manufacturer of
automotive controls, for an undisclosed amount of cash.

TGM, with 1997 sales of $9 million, produces a wide range of sensors,
switches and lighting products for automotive original equipment
manufacturers in Brazil. Its major customers include Fiat and
Volkswagen.

Raton said the acquisition expands its position in Brazil, which has
annual sales of more than $350 million. TGM becomes part of Eaton's
Automotive Group, which last year had sales approaching $2 billion.
