Intel sees doubling Celeron shipments in Q4 vs Q3

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Intel Corp. (Nasdaq:INTC - news)expects to double shipments of its Celeron
microprocessor designed for low-cost personal computers in the fourth quarter from the third, an Intel executive said on Tuesday.

Paul Otellini, head of the world's largest chipmaker's architecture business group, made the comments during a speech at Oracle Corp.'s OpenWorld conference in San
Francisco.

If Intel does double the number of Celerons in the fourth quarter, that would compare with 3 million to 4 million Celerons it sold in the third quarter, estimated Bill Milton,
an analyst at Brown Brothers Harriman.

The Celeron competes with low-cost chips sold by rivals Advanced Micro Devices Inc. and National Semiconductor Corp.
