Pat,

I like your term "loss harvesting", even though I hadn't heard it before. I think most of us have done exactly what you have done, selling our high priced shares and buying them back cheaper. I'm sure most of us have average prices far lower than they used to be. However, tax losses only work if you eventually have profits to offset them. <g>

To be honest, I think we may see the exact opposite effect.

There have been over 10m shares traded under $2.5. For people to sell at these levels would actually be locking in profits! You may see people holding off on the selling, especially if the price creeps any higher. Just food for thought.
