Powerful surge at the end of the day on heavy volume...

iqc.com

Some fairly large trades....several about $125,000 a pop...shows institutional buying...a good sign here.

But we seem to be at an impasse and have stalled somewhat...the recovery at the end of the day was a good sign but obviously sellers and buyers were pretty evenly matched. The scenarios I see now are either a retreat back to the low $12's...possibly even as low as
$11 3/4...technically, we are overbought...and then another rise as the Christmas season gets closer and we have more visibility on both the timing and quality of pending releases. This is perhaps
the ideal situation....gives us a breather for another leg up.

However, depending if the games sector brightens up a bit...ERTS has been taking it on the chin lately...same as other stock (not market) leaders like THQI (lol)...we could see another push rather quickly to $14....where there is significant resistance....If we break this barrier on heavy volume, I think we will head higher...perhaps even testing last year's high.

A lot of ifs...if Asteroids and Apocalypse move briskly...
BTW, the buzz on Heavy Gear II is excellent....some control issues but these will be optimized in the actual game. This is based on feedback from multiple newsgroups and web sites....I have not yet played the demo...damn! ;)...so I believe this to be true. This is not based solely on Usenet feedback...

Alex, I don't know if you want to comment on this, but the usenet groups, I believe are extremely biased. It's almost as if there are reps from competing companies bashing each other's releases and trying to sway public opinion. I must say they are very effective....This is very disturbing. I would also not be surprised if same company reps were hyping their own products in disguise. Activision gets the dull end of the stick a lot.

ATVI and other games companies have a lot to benefit from the state of the industry...this year will be exceptionally strong for consoles due to the new $129 price point for both N64 and PSX...Sony is building 2 million PSX machines a month!...
and the drop in computer prices makes gaming machines...Pentium II's mainly, more affordable....most say that the sub $1000 machines are not capable of good high-end gaming due to lack of expandability, etc...but makes a good case for the value software genre....where Head Games will help.

IN short, don't be afraid of a pullback here....it should be relatively minor...not even sure whether or not it's worth playing.
