Dell's quarters end on the Sunday nearest the last day of January (year-end), April, July, and October, so the Dell 3rd quarter ended November 1. Dell is particularly fast reporting after the close on November 12. For the year-end report for the year ended February 1, 1998, Dell reported on February 18. Most companies take longer for year-end reports than interim reports.
