Cheryl, the point I was making, is the use of the word FAILED in Y2K discussions. In radio / TV interviews the Y2K expert would say "all of these systems FAILED Y2K compliance."

So the average Joe listening would be very concerned. If the Y2K expert said: This computer failed Y2K compliance but to correct the problem you would have to manually set the date on Jan.01/2000.

------------------------------------

These products below FAILED Y2K Compliance

Some Camcorders:
Date displayed will be incorrect, but otherwise, unit will function properly.

Some Fax Machines:
Header will be incorrect, but otherwise, unit will send and receive properly.

Some Computers:
The date will set to 1/4/80 at the first boot up after Jan 1,2000. Please re-set the date manually at that time.

Some Telephone Systems:
A software upgrade to make these systems Year 2000 compliant will be available from May 1, 1998. Please contact your dealer for further information.

In my opinion, it is irresponsible for Y2K experts to play on the fear and ignorance of people. If a certain system fails Y2K compliance, explain what the problem is and how and if it can be corrected.
