Here's an interesting new trick that Toys R' Us is trying out. A gift registry. Kind of like a bridal registry, only your kid gets to register all the toys he or she could ever dream of for the folks to buy at Christmas and Birthday time. They sign you up, give your kid an ID number, and you a hand held bar code scanner with which to go through the store.

We spent an interesting (well at least for my son) afternoon scanning 49 items he wants most. Now Maw-Maw, Aunts and Uncles and various other important people who give gifts to him can make no mistake about what he wants for Christmas and Birthday and no duplication. All they have to do is go into any Toys R' Us nationwide and they'll give them a read out of his list.

I'm kind of surprised they didn't think of it sooner. Maybe we should go check out their stock. I'll bet their sales improve this year.

But the Emperor...

... you see, the Emperor, he's...

... oh, never mind.

My, how fine the thread!
