Michael, My interpretation of the Red Herring article is that Eudora is not making money, cannot compete with Msft over the long run, so Q will let it die on the vine. (They are stripping the management).
The Q will supply the CDMA technology and hardware, while Msft supplies the software. Msft kills Eudora, and punches 3com palmpilot in the nose.

I doubt that Q can serve 2 masters ( 3com and Msft) over the long term, but this will remain to be seen. It would be typical for msft to come back in 18 months and tell the Q "you either stop supporting 3com's palmpilot or we will pull out of wireless and work with xxxx (lucent, nortel, motorolla, erickson, nokia). wj
