It's timing, momentum and hope/hype. This is a calculated risk for buyers. The fundamentals aren't strong by any means. Even eBay, as expensive as it is, has revenues. And EarthWeb has more competitors of scale. EarthWeb does have one common denominator with eBay, however: a tiny float. 2.1 million shares in a frenzied market... I can only guess what will happen today.
