Well said....."We are in a battle for souls....."
All but what counts for Christ will be fodder for the fire.

Bob your battle is hopeless. Souls are neither won or lost. Souls are in themself neither lost or saved. They exist "as is where is."

Bob

Battles can not be won by turning brothers against brothers, and by causing children to kill their parents or whatever that was. battles are won by creating more love, not more discourse. I could never believe in any philosphy that taught anything different.

Mark

Bob said, "We are in a battle for souls..."

John 3
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotton Son of God.

Bob,

You wrote: "You misunderstand Christianity. Jesus Himself said that divisiveness was unavoidable. MT 10:21 '... the brother shall deliver up his brother to death, and the father his child, ...
children shall rise up against their
parents, and cause them to be put to death.'...We are in a battle for souls."

Just my opinion, but I believe that Jesus felt that divisiveness is unavoidable only in the Beginning. To me, Jesus is speaking of the divisiveness of the beliefs within ONE individual, and speaking of the process of sorting out those ideas within oneself that are and are 'not' of God. This is another example of where my perspective of looking at the scripture as describing a picture within us transforms a passage seemingly about conflict and discord to one of healing and renewed faith. The scriptures reflect back exactly what we choose to see, and this is why I am trying to learn to see them from a different light. How I saw them before simply left me as I was, unchanged. Seeing them in a different light tells me my work has only just begun. The only soul we can really battle for is our own. And does it have to be a battle, or is there a better way?

Peace,
Darrin
