Mike, somewhere ( I can't recall -like Clinton -g-) I read that hot rolled steel was $290/ton by US producers while foreign ( Russian,SEA,China et. al.)was for sale at $200/ton. The foreigners were shipping here w/out buyers to negotiates sales once it was shipped here. I recently bought a 2 1/4 hydraulic floor jack that weighs 75 lbs made in china for $63 it is comparable or better to my sears jack made in taiwan that I bought 10? years ago for $120. I do not like the erosion of our manufacturing base -it was this " arsenal of democracy" which helped us win WWII . Service sector jobs may sound comforting as we lose our industrial base but many workers are left behind and service jobs do not help you win wars. Mike
