SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- 3Dlabs(R), Inc. (Nasdaq: TDDDF)
today announced the Oxygen(TM) Upgrade Program in the USA and Canada for
existing users of any graphics board based on 3Dlabs chips, as well as all
graphics accelerators manufactured by the former Dynamic Pictures. Under the
terms of the program, customers will be able to purchase an award-winning
Oxygen GMX or an Oxygen RPM board at a special discounted price upon the
return of their existing 3Dlabs-based products before March 31, 1999.
The upgrade price for the Oxygen GMX will be $1,599 compared to a
suggested list price of $2,299 -- a savings of $700; and the upgrade price for
the Oxygen RPM will be $999 compared to a suggested list price of $1,499 -- a
savings of $500. Qualifying products include any graphics boards based on
GLINT(R), PERMEDIA(R), PERMEDIA NT, PERMEDIA 2 technologies and former Dynamic
Pictures products such as the Oxygen 102, Oxygen 202, Oxygen 402 and the V192

Oxygen GMX Information
Oxygen GMX is the latest high-end member of the Oxygen family of 3D
graphics accelerator boards for Windows NT(R) workstations. Based on 3Dlabs'
GLINT(R) GMX 2000 chipset, Oxygen GMX accelerates the complete OpenGL(R)
geometry, lighting and rasterization pipeline on a single AGP card. The
on-board GLINT Gamma geometry processor provides 2Gflops of processing power
to boost the interactivity of complex models and scenes by up to 400%.
Oxygen GMX has a peak geometry throughput of 3.3 million lit, transformed
polygons-per-second (50% backface removed, Gouraud-shaded, 32-bit color and Z)
and delivers up to 66 million mip-mapped pixels-per-second fill rates. Oxygen
GMX performs high-precision, sub-pixel accurate rendering, including full
32-bit Z-buffering. With 96MB of on-board memory Oxygen GMX supports
true-color high-resolution displays up to 1920 x 1080 with over 24MB of local
texture storage.
Oxygen GMX has been shipping since September 1998.
Oxygen RPM Information
Oxygen RPM is the mid-range solution of the Oxygen product line designed
to provide workstation-class performance and functionality at a price intended
to widen the accessibility of professional-class 3D graphics on Windows NT
workstations. Oxygen RPM uses two parallel graphics processors with 64Mbytes
of unified SDRAM graphics memory to provide true color, high-resolution
displays up to 1600 x 1200, and high-precision 24-bit Z-buffering on a
single-slot AGP card.
Featuring dual RAMDACs, Oxygen RPM can drive two fully accelerated
displays with a virtual desktop running across both screens. Oxygen RPM takes
full advantage of 3Dlabs' PowerThreads(TM) driver to utilize the power of
multiple CPUs to boost geometry performance to a level above that of other
mid-range solutions. Oxygen RPM commenced shipping in November 1998.
