We also got the Monday night storms but they weren't bad. The wind yesterday even made driving tough. Today it's sunny, windy and cold. Heard they got a foot of snow in the Dakotas. They can keep that stuff.

On this day in 1943 I believe was the year, a huge storm rolled in off the plains. The water got too rough for the duck hunters to reach shore, some drowned but most stayed in their blinds. The next day dozens of hunters were found frozen to death in their blinds all over the Upper Midwest.

Makes me want to turn up the heat.
