Agreement to Offer 131,000 Software
Titles Online

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 11, 1998--Digital River and U S WEST !NTERPRISE Networking, the data networking arm of U S WEST, today announced an agreement to sell software over the Internet. U S WEST will make available more than 131,000 software titles and other digital content from Digital River's online inventory to U S WEST.net

Internet.

U S WEST is also the leader in providing high-speed, always-on access to Internet users using
Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) technology. Its MegaBit Services, which are available
today in nearly 40 cities, provides Internet access at speeds from 256 Kbps to 7 Mbps - up to 250

new product development - Internet Services for U S WEST !NTERPRISE Networking. ''By
augmenting the content and services already available on U S WEST.net, we're expanding the
choices and value we deliver to subscribers.''

U S WEST.net subscribers can order software from the U S WEST.net software store managed by
Digital River. The vast collection of software offered through Digital River includes titles in business
and office productivity; anti-virus software, system accelerators and other utilities; Web tools;
games; and the largest selections of stock photography, images and fonts available anywhere.
Software is either downloaded electronically, or physically shipped, depending on customer
preference.

''U S WEST's leadership in delivering high-speed Internet services provides a unique opportunity
for partnership,'' said Joel Ronning, President and CEO of Digital River. ''They bring to the table
the resources of a solid telecommunications provider with the technological savvy of a data
communications leader. Their efforts to expand user bandwidth using new ADSL technology will
revolutionize the Internet industry, and not only make the electronic delivery of large software
packages feasible, but commonplace.''
