I think we have heard this story before. We never know how much is in the pile, what is screened and what is not, why sometimes the process works and sometimes it does not.

Maybe, if they identified the minerals containing the pm's, they could better control some of these seemingly infinite variables.

Identifying the minerals would be like cutting the onion in half and looking at the middle. They wouldn't have to peel one layer, cry for several weeks and then peel another.
