Lucent lands $250 million Time Warner Telecom
contract

Lucent Technologies (LU) landed a contract worth up to
$250 million from Time Warner (TWX) Telecom, the media
giant's competitive local exchange carrier. The three-year
contract is for Time Warner Telecom to buy Lucent's
optical networking, communications software, switching
and access products.
Time Warner Telecom hopes to offer
customers integrated voice, data and Internet services
through the technology. Lucent also will provide
engineering, installation, technical support and other
professional services. Time Warner Telecom offers
business telephony services mostly to medium and
large-sized business customers. Lucent shares advanced 1
3/4 to 90 3/4. See press release.
