Absolutely. What is the point of passing new more restrictive campaign finance laws when the current ones are being broken with impunity?

And even if you restrict contributions to party and candidate, unless you revoke the 1st amendment, nobody can stop private groups from producing and running their own commercials.

BS. The media and actors are almost entirely owned by the right wing or by religious groups, from Luce to Sung Yung Moon to Newhouse to Tisch to Eisner to Buckley. Since reporters no longer think about anything but payday, they write what they are told, and what they are told defends your side. 80%, anyway. In fact all of the small liberal publications have been driven out of business. We still have the Village Voice and the Guardian, but so what? People read them for the personals and the entertainment news, mainly.

I know it gripes you that there are still a few actors who aren't part of the Reagan-Heston-Bono tribe. Take heart, the media are slowing the return to moderation.
