Well I wish that I had owned GD since l991, but I have short term traded it many times in the last few months. Great company. Doesn't the gov't owe them 1.3 billion as a settlement for the cancelled A12 program? I believe that it is under appeal. The brokerage house defense analysts haven't a clue about GD and during all these years I don't think there was ever a buy consensus on it! BTW, I like Newport News alot--they have a monopoly on nuclear powered aircraft carriers, which includes their mid-life nuclear refuelling. The stock has been basing in the 24-27+ range, while the company has been doing a large stock buyback. I think it may be ready to break out of that range. That said, I am very bearish on this market in general.
