Why not? EPS already takes into account shares outstanding and the overall market cap is fairly comparable. The piece that is missing, IMO, is the projected EPS growth rate for the 2 companies and I believe WS has a higher growth rate on ASND, although I could be wrong and so could they.

Also, ASND is generally in higher margin areas of networking (as is CSCO). Being so prominent in the modem business works against COMS (i.e. the "commodity business" talk we so often hear), even though they are developing quite a franchise in that area.
