Another vacuous comment from the peanut gallery. Delphi and JBuilder are the vi-like products, to apply your thinking. Frankly, that's a bad analogy because vi is the best program editor there is. Again, it's a learn versus earn issue. Once you've learned it you don't want to use lame IDE editors. I use vi for 98% of my editing, even on Windows. I use MKS toolkit for 90% of my utility requirements. I don't replace highly efficient tools because they weren't/aren't as easy to learn as some other product; I've done learned them, why waste my time with training wheels? The fact is, Visual Basic is the overall, hands-down best environment on the planet for COM (abortion that it is) programming. I don't use it because I use C++ in 90% of my work, I will use it immediately if I have to generate a dumb-ass form application like the majority of Delphi hacks are involved in. Pascal stinks, Visual Basic has even surpassed Pascal in terms of quality, effectiveness, utility and on every other level. Pascal stinks and one more thing, Pascal stinks.
