I suggest you read Reminiscences of a Stock Operator, written by Ed LeFerve. I can only say that tomorrow's rushed IPO of Globe.Com is in essence a feeble attempt to get out an offering during the internet HYPE. The investment bankers know exactly what's going on in the industry. They are hoping to sustain the stocks with small buying in the morning and then whack it to the "longs" for the next few weeks. I think this latest run up has differentiated the fit from the unfit. I like XCIT, LCOS, YHOO, AOL. I don't like SEEK or AMZN or any stock that couldn't power to a new high. However, in the short run, they'll all die.
