Mr. Archie Nesbitt reports
Drilling on Naneco's Jiawula silver-copper-lead-zinc deposit in Nei Mongolia,
China, continues to intersect massive to semi-massive sulphide mineralization on
zone No. 2 in core holes J-98-7, J-98-8, and J-98-9. High grade intercepts were
encountered in each of these holes.
Core hole J-98-7 intersected 6.0 metres (19.7 feet) grading 112.6 g/mt Ag, 0.24
per cent Cu, and 10.84 per cent combined Pb-Zn which contained a two metre
(6.5 foot) interval grading 283.15 g/mt Ag, 0.6 per cent Cu, and 25.78 per cent
combined Pb-Zn.
Core hole J-98-8 intersected 12.80 metres (42 feet) grading 97.45 g/mt Ag, 0.24
per cent Cu, and 12.68 per cent combined Pb-Zn which contained a 2.1 metre
(6.89 foot) interval grading 194.37 g/mt Ag, 0.65 per cent Cu, and 24.33 per
cent combined Pb-Zn and a 2.5 metre (8.2 foot) interval grading 261.78 g/mt Ag,
0.53 per cent Cu, and 29.22 per cent combined Pb-Zn.
Core hole J-98-9 intersected 23.00 metres (75.5 feet) grading 67.62 g/mt Ag,
0.29 per cent Cu, and 12.06 per cent combined Pb-Zn which contained several
high grade intervals including a 7.5 metre (24.61 foot) interval grading 105.98
g/mt Ag, 0.45 per cent Cu, and 21.16 per cent combined Pb-Zn, a 3.00 metre
(9.84 foot) interval grading 103.53 g/mt Ag, 0.70 per cent Cu, and 15.28 per
cent combined Pb-Zn, and a 2.00 metre (6.56 foot) interval grading 49.85 g/mt
Ag, 0.29 per cent Cu and 15.22 per cent combined Pb-Zn.
Naneco's technical staff continue to be encouraged by both the substantial
thickness and high grades encountered in the 1998 confirmation and exploratory
drilling. Naneco's staff further believes these data support the tremendous potential
of the Jiawula district. The Jiawula deposit zone No. 2 currently being tested is
only one of 40 identified outcropping zones of silver-copper-lead-zinc
mineralization in Naneco's area of interest.
Naneco has completed a total of 30 confirmation and exploration core holes
to-date on the Jiawula No. 2 zone with sample cutting completed on-site and
one-half core samples being shipped to ITS in Vancouver for assaying. The
remaining one-half core is stored at the Jiawula mine site. Assays will be reported
as available.
