Dick, to get you started with sector names, here they are (lifted from
Bruce Edelstein's post). Most are self-explanatory. Paul just adds
a "bp" in front (for bullish %}. The "%10week" and "hilo" I need to
look up for the correct definition.

Dick, "%10week" means % of stocks above 10 week moving average.

And "hilo"...
NYSE High-Low Index: This index measures the number of new highs made on the NYSE
divided by the number of new highs plus new lows. This number is then recorded on a ten day moving average. The ten day moving average is then plotted on a grid from 0% to 100%. We look at the Percent of Stocks Above their 10 Week Moving Average and the NYSE High-Low Index in conjunction with one another. Buy signals are given when the index goes below 30% and reverses up, as well as when a column of Xs exceeds a previous column of Xs. Sell signals are given when the index goes above 70% and reverses down, as well as when a column of Os exceeds a
previous column of Os.

Richard, Where can I get a nice listing of what all the sector abbreviations mean?

Immediately, you can go to the Dorsey Wright site dorseywright.com and using the abbreviations which I have posted on this site enter each in the place to search. You will first have to register for a two week trial. Thereafter, all you have to do is upgrade the percentile boxes (%)what I post weekly on this site. The procedure follows the same procedured outlined in the book.

The DW process is the best system I have found todate since it is based on basic supply and demand and is simple. Gottfried, can also give you his take on the system. You can also go the the Point and Figure Charting site on SI.

Tom Dorsey has a book entiled, Dorsey Wright & Associates, Inc., Ticker Index, of the symbols. The watts line for DW is 1-800-247-5234, attn Jay Ball.

This should help you out.

Just my opinions.
