The more the more. Shannon: Excuse me but Intel did quite well last quarter after 4 or 5 quarters of relatively dismal performance and problems (but you didn't see any of Intel's past production problems or late entry in to the sub-cheapies etc affecting Dell now did you? At least it didn't to any significant level) and it looks like they will 'burn the barn' next quarter and then we have 1999 and beyond.I for one am not only concerned about Q3 but the outlook for Q4 and beyond are equally or more important. In other words we (DELL) don't necessarily partake in Intel's manufacturing problems (with the exception of supply constrains or lack of new products perhaps) or marketing problems but what is good for Intel is good for DELL when in it comes to product sales.The more they sell the more we sell and that is all I am saying.

Sales by intc are recorded at shipment, not when dell pays for the chips. These results for intc are forward looking not backwards focused. Although with dell, as fast as they turn inventory, their check to intc probably hasn't cleared the bank by the time dell's customers pay them. Best Regards, Greg Gimelli
