jim, <<You may have thought it was a gift.
You may have been scared to death.
Only you know the real answer.>>

actually, we increased shares at $46 and change (even though $42 would have been preferred - and let those new shares go recently at $66 1/2). Kumar's report to private vendors, i'm told, was one reason for the sell-off. we were warned, in fact at the old $68 before the drop that Greenspan probably wouldn't lower rates; but the ensuing sell-off was much greater than anticipated. but that's Dell. now they're burping up new concerns, and you should be pleased. maybe they came from your office. as for any rumored sell-off (i.e., Peter Green), i don't know, but don't think it will last. not yet anyway.

i think we even reported that Dell would rise back above $60 when Dell was at $42 on that day, according to the M&S. LT was saying it was headed for $30, and he "felt" more visually correct at the time, even though he was wrong.

as you probably know, and have been using for predictive movements, Dell trades under above average margin; so mms, i think, like to take out such traders on statistical "outlier" swings.
