Thanks, Berney. It's further documentation, as if any were needed, that it is very, very hard to beat Indexing -- especially if you own 100 or more stocks, have 100% annual turnover, and have to overcome a 1-1/2% or so in annual fees, as is typically the case with mutual funds. Further, this makes no account of the higher tax consequences of owning an actively managed fund.
