Great stories Bill, I really can only imagine what it must be like to live in a war era, much less participate in the war itself. The situation in Iraq during the past years I suppose would be defined as a war... But I think this latest era is more one of terrorism than anything else... just my opinion. Regardless of how you describe the tensions in the world today (in the eyes of an American), there has yet to be an occasion which even compares to the masses of troops sent abroad in past war efforts, and for that, I extend my heartfelt thanks. By all estimations, there will never again be a time when so many brave men and women are needed to go and risk their lives fighting war in another country. I saw the beginning of Saving Private Ryan, and believe me, I didn't enjoy it, although I did appreciate it. I told my friends afterwards that you do not go and see that movie to enjoy it, you go to witness the history portrayed within it in order to appreciate how truly catastrophic war has been in the past. Surely this was part of the impression that Speilberg intented. Obviously, war tactics have changed through the years, and technology has given us the ability to retain our freedom with less man power. I would like to believe that the Vietnam War is the last battle Americans will have had to fight in that results in such enormous numbers of casualties and injuries. War itself is hell in my mind, and your fighting has given me my freedom, because by most every stretch of the imagination, I will not have to go through what you and far too many others had too. Indeed, Veterans of War deserve many thanks from my generation, and the generations to follow as well. Thanks Bill :-) Regards, Dave
