Are you saying that if you cancel an order through their web site you don't know if you are out or not?

RT,
Brown shines the most at options.
For day trading Nasdaq, I use live broker and try to keep them on the phone.

With the proliferation of baskets and outright shutting-off of stock by mayer and nite (from the automatic system), this is more critical now than ever.

Would you please explain the term "baskets"?

I'm also not familiar with the practice of certain market makers "shutting off the stock." I do know that at Datek sometimes canceling Nasdaq orders can take several minutes, enraging the day traders who use them. I always thought this was a Datek problem. Now you've got me wondering.
