Vitesse Establishes Direct Sales Office; Expands Telecom, Datacom and ATE Presence CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 11, 1998--Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. (Nasdaq:VTSS) Wednesday announced the opening of its Japanese subsidiary, Vitesse Semiconductor Japan Corp. This office is located at 2-9-21-201 Honcho, Kokubunji, Tokyo 185-0012, Japan, and is being managed by Yuzo Tsukui, Pacific Rim sales manager and representative director of Vitesse Semiconductor Japan. Also included at this location will be a design center staffed by Vitesse field application engineers who will work closely with companies in designing the latest technology into new products. "Growth of the high-speed communications markets in this region has prompted us to further develop our Pacific Rim sales and distribution organizations," stated Neil Rappaport, Vitesse's vice president of sales. "After 10-plus years of market development, the time is right for Vitesse to make permanent our presence in the Pacific Rim with our headquarters and a design center in Japan. Through this, we will be able to continue to serve our major customers more efficiently," continued Rappaport. Tsukui was hired to establish this Vitesse sales office and design center in the Pacific Rim, with responsibility for marketing Vitesse products throughout this area. Tsukui brings more than 18 years of experience in the electronics industry. Prior to Vitesse, Tsukui was regional sales manager at AMD Japan Ltd., a culmination of his 12-year career with the company in various sales and marketing positions. Vitesse's current Pacific Rim sales representatives include Logic 4 Australasia in Australia and New Zealand; Landcol Enterprise Ltd. in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong; Asahi Glass Co. Ltd. and Internix Inc. in Japan; and Beaver International in Korea.
