Les's "severance" is a good deal for the shareholders -
Les had as much to do about building the company as Ross Perot did and Ross walked away with $750 million back when $750 million was really big bucks. Les had the capability to drive the company to his stated goal of $25 billion but for some reason it looks like he got complacent and took his eye off the shop. Therefore, he only walks away with $35 million or so. It was good for him to realize that he had lost the fire in the belly and decided to get out of the way. I really like the guy but I can't wait for a new leader. Gary Fernandes is capable of taking EDS to the next level and I am very disappointed that Les did not position Gary for the job. As I stated in a previous post, Larry Weinbach, the current UNISYS CEO, would be an absolute dynamite choice.
