GOP military service The following GOP Reps. are candidates for leadership positions, according to today's New York Times. Biographical information culled from the members' web sites. The profiles of members that I know saw combat (e.g. Charles Rangle, Randy Cunningham)made specific mention of that experience, and listed the medals and decorations they had won. DNS=Did not serve: Dick Armey (TX) b 1940, DNS John Boehner (OH) b 1949, DNS Chris Cox (CA) b 1952, DNS Tom Davis (VA) b 1949, "[A]ttended Officer Candidate School, served on active duty in the U.S. Army, and spent eight years with the Virginia National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve." Tom DeLay (TX) b 1947, DNS Jennifer Dunn (WA) b 1941, DNS Steve Largent (OK) b 1954, DNS John Linder (GA) b 1942, "Captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1969." Bob Livingston (LA) b 1943, "[S]erved on active duty with the United States Navy as an enlisted man from 1961-63, and received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy Reserve in 1967."
