If you have an open order, it describes it in detail. If you have no open order, it says no open orders.

I noticed twice today that there was a lag time of maybe 30-60 seconds before the order showed up in "Open Orders". Because the order didn't show in executions I was puzzled. Now that I think about it, they may have both been short sales. If so, that gives us an idea of how long it takes them to check for share availability. Next time I get a delay in open order display, I'll note if it is a short sale or not.
